Communication Design

Communication designers are interdisciplinary by nature. We make things that you see, read, touch, and experience every day. Our visual messages live on a static page, a dynamic screen, or a user interface. Our curriculum is Graphic Design made dynamic. Students begin with the core design principles, which include image, typography, color, messaging, motion, UX, semiotics, and more. Then once the user hovers an iPad over the article headlines it then reveals another article with contradictory information. The purpose of this project was to provoke the user to question where their getting their information from and are they really doing the research on the companies whoâ€™s very involved in their day to day lives.

The National Cherry Festivalâ€™s purpose is to celebrate and promote cherries, community involvement, and tourism of Grand Traverse region. The festival provides economic benefits throughout the Northern Michigan. In order to promote the Cherry Festival, a poster and digital component were developed that allures, informs, and engages an audience to the event.
